Today we learned about genre and here is my summary of the subject
Genre: is a way to categorize media text
Genre convention: is an aspect of a genre that is frequently used to a point where the audience may expect it like ghosts in Horror movies
- it is a sci-fi comedy movie that subverts the superhero genre by having comedy in the mix and sci-fi also, it has the conventions of sci-fi movies like hyper speed travel and stuff like that and lasers and weird crap

We also learned about genre and genre is a good way of finding out what audience we want for our Project ad. psychographic and demographic will be vary useful in determining what demographic we're gonna target
Week 3:
We learned about camera positions yeah, like over the shoulder, POV, Longshot, Extreme Long shot, establishing shot. it effects the audiences view of the characters and influences feelings of the audience like making them look weak or strong or showing how they feel or how the audience should feel about that scene
Week 4:
This week on media studies we learned about camera movement and how it effects the scenes and makes the audience feel involved and shows how to move the camera or the audiences POV

WEEK 6:
This episode on media studies we went deeper and diver into genre and learned media theories like David Buckingham, Steve Neil. David Buckingham states that a media text must be similar enough to be recognized in the genre but be different and innovative enough to be inciting to the audience or new audience. While Steve Neil states that media and media text changes to cater to societal changes and technological changes because as times goes by tech gets more wacky.
WEEK 7:
This episode on Media Studies we learned about more media theories like Roland Barthes. Ronald Barthes theorised that media text contains 5 narrative codes which are Hermeneutic code, Proairetic code, Semantic code and Symbolic code. Levi Shauss also theorised that the story can only progress of there is conflict for the antagonist or the protagonist to make the story move forward.
